People across North America are gearing up for March Madness, NBA/NHL Playoff races, and the start of MLB Spring Training. It is certainly a great time for sports but we'd like to point you in the direction of some of the best amateur sports competitions in the world - the U Sports Championship Season (#champszn).
Formerly known as the CIS (Canadian Interuniversity Sport), U Sports is the governing body of university sport in Canada. It features 56 schools from coast-to-coast-to-coast competing in a wide variety of individual and team sports ranging from curling to hockey.
The four conferences are currently in playoffs for the winter sports (wrestling, swimming, track, basketball, hockey, volleyball, and curling) to see who will go to the national championships held in a variety of cities. These championships provide an opportunity to see the best in Canadian sport and you are sure to see some epic games as the teams march towards their respective finals.
If you can't make it to the games in person, most games are streamed online or on Sportsnet 360/TVA Sports 2. You can see a full schedule of championships, ticket info, and more HERE.
We encourage all of you to check out a game in person or online and support Canadian athletics. Many of these athletes are future Olympians and some of the best in the world at their sport. We personally can't wait to see the strength of the North on full display!
